Heather Thompson, BSc RMT
Heather will be on maternity leave from Metro Massage Therapy and Acupuncture Clinic as of June 2010. She is looking forward to returning and reconnecting with all her clients in 2011. Nancy Mather RMT is taking over her practice while she is away.
Heather Thompson RMT, BSc, has been practicing massage therapy since 2002. She practices primarily deep tissue therapy combined with myofascial work. However, with experience in craniosacral therapy, sports massage, acute pain and chronic pain syndromes, she practices a variety of techniques depending on the needs of the patient.
Heather believes in treating holistically, which often means treating the symptoms first, and then working towards discovering what is actually causing the problem.
She also practices visceral manipulation, which is a technique that involves gently working with the abdominal organs to create health in the body. This gentle technique can make quite a difference in pain and sympoms for some people with endometriosis, hiatal hernia and other digestive disorders.
Heather has completed many massage courses since graduating from the three year massage therapy program. She has worked at the Pentiction Ironman, the Victoria marathon and other community events.
